CW network rides past competitors on the back of ‘Vampire Dairies’

Be it the new Twilight movie sequel, CW’s ‘Vampire Dairies or HBO's ‘True Blood,’ the guys coming to suck teen girls’ blood have bewitched pre-teen, teen and young female audience across the globe.

‘Vampire Diaries’ aired at 7pm on Thursdays now help the CW network to grab more eyeballs than ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox do. Since the 1960’s series ‘Dark Shadows,’ vamp stories have been fabulous hits except for a few dramas like last year’s ‘Moonlight.

The question ‘what makes teen girls flock to see theses bad guys?’ has met with piquant responses. Damon Salvatore, who plays the ultimate bad boy vampire Ian Somerhalder, said people like to watch a guy if he’s fun and charm, no matter if he is a complete bastard.

Vampires and the mythologies behind them will remain forever in people’s imagination as they are not only powerful and dangerous but also beautiful and sexy, Somerhalder added.

Like in the new Twilight movie based on Stephenie Meyer’s ‘New Moon,’ ‘Vampire Diaries’ too has a vampire romancing with human teenager. Stephan is madly loves Elena played by Nina Dobrev.

Dobrev says there is something about a man who skulks in the dark.
