Meet the Non-Vampie Hotties of The Vampire Diaries

Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) are painfully beautiful in their brooding "I'm a vampire and I wanna drink your blood" kind of way. For many this task might be hard, but if you look past the handsome vampires, you will find two hotties waiting in the wings. Granted they are no bloodsuckers, however, their tender, sweet, and passionate onscreen characters have stolen our hearts.

Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen) plays Elena Gilbert's (Nina Dobrev) younger and troubled brother. After their parents unexpected death, Jeremy struggles to find an ease to his sadness. Even through the tortured pain, we spotted this hottie out in the early episodes as leading man material. For know, the strong male lead sits quietly in the background, but soon enough he will emerge as the shows superstar. Fearnet.com spoke with Steven about the backstory of the mythology in The Vampire Diaries.

On Mythology: "There's definitely mythology in it. The mythology has American meanings. I think we look to what the mythology really symbolizes and portray that a little more; what vampires are similar to in real life. I think they're compared to certain things. I can't really give away the secrets, the writers would kill me. But it's just about where the origin of that really comes from and what we compare to vampires, children of the night who don't quite feel whole, who don't know exactly [know] what's going on. It's very interesting. It's very cool."

Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) plays the hunky football player who was dealt a terrible hand when his girlfriend Elena dumped him and his sister Vicki (Kayla Ewell) was turned into a vampire and killed. Through all this pain, Matt is the steady rock on The Vampire Diaries who has caught our attention. JSYK.com caught up with the super stud to talk about all things Vampire Diaries.

On Vicki's Death: "Anything's possible. We are on a show with vampires. Someone coming back from the dead isn't that unrealistic. We saw her die, but did we really see her die?"

On Being Clueless About Vamps: "He has no idea what's going on. I honestly thought my character would be aware sooner, but they're just drawing it out. I would assume pretty soon. I haven't read or been told anything specifically or definitely. But there have been a lot of things that have happened fast on the show."
