From vampire to blue-blood
He's so hot, you knew Vampire Diaries wouldn't be the last you'd see of him. And don't worry, Ian Somerhalder is not leaving Vampire Diaries; he's just adding bigger (and maybe even better) roles to his resume.
Some people's favorite vampire, Ian Somerhalder, will be coming to a big screen soon! Imagine seeing his beautiful face (and body) on a huge screen? So much better than simply watching him on our televisions.
Sort of fitting along with the vampire theme, Ian is going to be starring in a gothic fairy tale called Cradlewood. Ian will be playing the son of an old Boston Blue-Blood family and the heir to a fortune. His character is also dating an Australian girl played by Emma Lung. The movie's plot sounds quite interesting:
"A family legend of his suggests that the family fortunes are tied up with a demon, and that a curse means that every time a boy is born into the family, his father dies. When he begins to experience strange things at the same time he starts suspecting his girlfriend is pregnant, he begins to worry that it's not just an old wives' tale."
Spooky! Ian will be on hiatus from Vampire Diaries in April, and it looks like production for Cradlewood will begin then.
According to the movie's executive producer, "We see this is as almost like an American-style Pan's Labyrinth in look and feel. It's a perfect segue for the kids who have outgrown Twilight but want something romantic and scary. Our monster will be quite terrifying; she is sexually attractive and monstrous at the same time." We're not quite sure how you can "outgrow" Twilight, but it still sounds like a fabulous movie.
