The blood suckers on 'The Vampire Diaries' are about to get an infusion -- of cool.According to Comcast, geek queen Gina Torres will be guest starring in an upcoming episode of The CW's freshman vampire drama as a witch named Bree who has a bit of a history with Ian Somerhalder's devilish vampire Damon.
Bree will become involved again in Damon's life when it comes to light that she "possibly holds the key to the more sinister Salvatore brother acquiring something he desperately wants – access to a tomb."
Torres, of course, is no stranger to the undead, having previously played erstwhile savior Jasmine on Joss Whedon's hit vampire series 'Angel'; she followed up that role with a turn in Whedon's cult sci-fi classic 'Firefly', where she played second-in-command Zoe Washburn.
More recently, Torres has been broadening her geek credentials even further by playing Felicia Wedeck on the critically acclaimed mind-bender 'FlashForward', meaning that Torres could face the unusual dilemma of facing off against herself, as 'Vampire Diaries' and 'FlashForward' air in the same time slot at 8 p.m. on Thursday night.
Being in two places at the same time -- now that's a power even a vampire would envy.
